The Pearson Test of English (PTE) Academic has introduced several key updates in 2025 to improve test accessibility, fairness, and alignment with real-world English use. Test-takers can now schedule exams just 24 hours in advance, providing greater flexibility. The PTE at Home version is now available in more countries, featuring enhanced security through AI-powered ID verification and remote proctoring. Pearson has also refined the test content. The Speaking & Writing sections now include tasks based on real-life situations, such as summarizing audio or responding to emails. The Reading and Listening modules have been adjusted for better clarity and practical application, with diverse accents and clearer instructions. A new scoring system offers deeper insights into candidate performance, breaking down individual skills like pronunciation and grammar. Additionally, a mobile app now supports preparation with mock tests, real-time feedback, and study plans. In India, the updated PTE exam fee is INR 17,000, on par with other international English tests. With these improvements, PTE 2025 aims to deliver a more accurate, efficient, and user-friendly testing experience for students, professionals, and migrants alike.
