As of 2025, the TOEFL iBT has become even more streamlined and student-friendly. The test now takes less than two hours to complete, following the shortened format introduced in 2023. This includes a reduced number of questions and a more concise Writing section, now featuring a single “Writing for an Academic Discussion” task. ETS continues to expand its test center availability worldwide, alongside the TOEFL Home Edition for added flexibility. Test-takers now receive faster score reporting—typically within 4–6 days. Additionally, ETS has enhanced the TOEFL Go! app with personalized study plans, AI-driven speaking practice, and performance analytics. Universities are increasingly accepting MyBest scores, giving students the advantage of showcasing their highest section scores from multiple attempts.
